Christmas 2009.......Will MUST have been a good boy!!!!!!

Either that or the boy has Santa on speed dial!!!!!!!!!  Daddy thinks that Santa went a little CRAZY, but what is a Daddy to do.....can't argue with the jolly ole elf.   Me, Pops and Tuts waited patiently for him to arrive to celebrate Christmas and Will came home on Christmas day at lunch and came into quite a pile of loot from Santa...   He LOVED the art/entertainment desk that Santa knew that he could NOT live without.  Of course in all of the excitement, he fell and hit his chair with his little mouth and had a lovely fumanchu scab for all of his Christmas pictures.  Believe me, it did not stop him from going from toy to toy and playing.  I think his favorite part of the day was opening presents.  He had NO trouble with saying or opening presents.... definitely has that down pat!!!!

After enjoying Santa and presents for a little while, we all loaded up in the Tahoe and headed to Alabama to Uncle Buck and Aunt Tickle's house.  The entire way over, all Will could say was "Baaaaileeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyy", it was just tooo cute.  When we got there it was a lovefest.  He just loves his little cousin.  They just played and played and played together.  Makes your heart feel good.  The best part of the night for me was when Bailey opened her gift from me and Will.  SHE GOT A TUTU!!!!!  To lessen the girleyness of it all, it was done in Alabama Crimson and White.  I think she enjoyed it.  I really think that her daddy really liked it too...check out the pictures!!!!

Saturday morning, we all loaded up and hit the road for Pensacola.  Tut's sister, Mom, lives there and we had a great time there.  It was nice to head out and be with more family to celebrate Christmas.  Of course, Will helped EVERYONE open presents....told you he had that down pat!!!!  Of course, he went from cousins to aunts playing and having a great time....  He is DEFINITELY and family man!!!  As with anything that is fun, you have to get back to reality......so we hit the road early on Monday morning and headed back HOME.  We watched movies all day and had a great time.  Will did soooo good.  Really did not get fussy until we got this side of Macon.  But when we got to the house....he was MUCH better!!!!!

Christmas is about making memories with family and having a great time.  I think that we did a great job of accomplishing all of these this year.  I hope that each of you had a great time doing the same.....

Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Merry Christmas to you all!!!!

What is Christmas??  It is tenderness for the past, courage for the present, hope for the future.  It is a fervent wish that every cup may overflow with blessings rich and eternal, and that every path my lead to peace.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

'Twas the night before Christmas,

when all through the house

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,

In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;

And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,

Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.

Away to the window I flew like a flash,

Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow

Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,

But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer,

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,

I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.

More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,

And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;

"Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!

On, Comet! on Cupid! on, Donder and Blitzen!

To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!

Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,

When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,

So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,

With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof

The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.

As I drew in my head, and was turning around,

Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,

And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;

A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,

And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.

His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!

His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!

His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,

And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,

And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;

He had a broad face and a little round belly,

That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly.

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,

And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,

Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,

And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,

And laying his finger aside of his nose,

And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,

And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.

But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,

"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."

Thanksgiving 2009

There is nothing better for the heart or the soul than being at home and enjoying good food.  The Kennedy Clan all converged on the Family Farm to enjoy some much needed family time, good food and of course some good stories.  Miss Bailey, a very much welcomed addition to the celebration this year, is finding her place in this family and I think that she is loving it.  After the eating and storytelling, what kind of a day would it be on the farm without feeding the cows??  Will was all about showing his cousin how it is done.  When we left to go to the house, I had one full and tired boy on my hands.  Bath time, story time and bedtime were virtually effortless.
