Friday Fun!!!
Got an extra special surprise today, Will showed up at my office at 2:00!!!!!!!! We made the rounds of the shop to look at all of the tools and equipment that he loves to look at. We had a snack and delivered some paperwork to the corporate accounting office…..the ladies down there love to see Will. And of course, he put on the show. He told me he was ready to go to the house. He wanted to go for a ride on his bike….. so I wrapped up my day and we trekked to the house…. all 100 yards…. Man I love living this close to work!!!
The pharmacy down the street had the parking lot repaved and it is smooth as glass….. so he hauls it through the parking lot. After riding for a few minutes he wanted to go in the pharmacy and get some blue sharks, Mr. Andy told him that they did not have them anymore so he settled for a good ole fashioned piece of bubble gum. When he got on the bike to ride around the block, he hit a bump and out came the gum…aaaaaand the pouting began. Too funny…. It was getting close to supper, so we headed home to make tacos.
He made his very own taco and only managed to spill enough to feed a small village, but we were laughing and having a ball. Since we were having tacos, I thought is would be as good a time as any to practice our Spanish. He has counting to 10 down pat. Can say hello and goodbye and a few other words. Report from his Spanish teacher at school says that he does very well and catches on quickly. She says that he will even correct anyone who pronounces the words wrong. And I am surprised…???…!!! He helped me clean up supper and got our bath and chatted on the computer for a few. Then we laid in bed and read book after book after book. Sweet boy fell asleep reading Brer Rabbit….. Don’t think I could have planned a better Friday night!!!!!!!!!!

Carving out memories….
Last year we were practicing shapes with our pumpkin, gluing shapes on for his face…. This year, it was time to get our hands a little dirty; and our forearms, and shoulders and shirt!!!!!!!!!
I gave the little man a piece of paper and pencil and asked him what he wanted the pumpkin to look like. He drew out the pumpkin face and INSISTED that the mouth only have one tooth. “Just one tooth daad”!!!!!
So he drew the circle around the top of the pumpkin and I told him that after I cut the hole off the top that he was going to stick his hand in there and get the stuff out…
It’s all cleaned out and we drew the face on it like he wanted with a few modifications; I got the shapes cut out and he pushed them in and fished them out of the pumpkin…..he was really diggin putting his arm all the way in the pumpkin.
Right after this, he said that it needed a candle and it was time to light it…. I explained that we would put the candle in and light it after dark and he says…”well, it’s almost dark daad”….. We had just finished lunch!!!!!!!! We had a good day today and after a good supper, a little Wii time and a warm bath, we talked to Grandpa D and Grammy Pam and had the lighting of our own Great Pumpkin!!!!!!!!

Deeproots 2011
So we both slept in today…..We didn’t get up until 7:50 a.m.!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT my friends is sleeping in at the Kennedy House… I was all prepared to fix a big hot breakfast of French toast and bacon, but Will opted for a bowl of cereal. So breakfast was easy. We did a little bit of decorating for Halloween putting out all of the stuff. Pumpkin carving will take place tomorrow!!!!!!
We loaded up and hit downtown Milledgeville for the 2011 Deeproots Festival. He was ecstatic when he saw the bounce houses from where we parked and was pulling me the whole way. We got in the gate and started from there. He liked the first one that he went down, it was just a small climb up and slide down….not too bad….
He was insistent that he go up on the space shuttle slide. Now….Hard to tell in this picture, but this thing is about 25 feet tall. About a third of the way up, excitement turned to apprehension….no, more like fear!!! He did not want to loose sight of me and a couple kids were coming up behind him and he was a trooper and pushed through his fear. I could not see him when he got to the top, but he was NOT a happy camper when he came to rest on the bottom of the slide… We got a bag of cotton candy and the tears disappeared!!!
So we are at a festival…gotta eat Carney food!!!! As you can tell, the corndog helped out with the ole tears as well!!!
After a carney lunch, some laughs and visits, we ran into Mille Gray… She kinda took charge, and off they went!!! And we hit all of the bounce houses…
And not to be outdone by a girl, he said that he “was gonna show Mille Gray how to ride the spaceship one”…. Never really paused going up this time; even went down for a second slide down the spaceship!!!!!!
They had the best time!!!!!!!!
And how cute are these two??????
Saturday was a blast to say the least……

Friday afternoon fun…..
Got my Buddy back after two loooooooong weeks and we decided to have a little fun!!!! We had to get a snack in and then we hit the ground running.
FIRST STOP..The Pumpkin Patch – Milledgeville FUMC
He was wide open….. Even made a new friend!!!
The fact that Grant had Lighting and Mater couldn’t have anything to do with the new friendship…
Short and fat, tall and skinny, bumpy, multicolored, BIG and little…..there was every kind of pumpkin that you could imagine there. It would have been easy to blow some cash….. Man do I love fall!!!
SECOND STOP…The Huddle House
The kiddo said that he wanted to eat some breakfast for supper… who is to argue with THAT logic???!!!??? We met up with Pops and T for some breakfast and nonstop chatter; although, I will have to say that I was one proud daddy to hear my child actively using his manners while being served. Just really makes you proud!! We all sat a visited and listened to him talk about everything under the sun and eating some of EVERYTHING on the table. Kid can put away some food…..
THIRD STOP… Downtown Milledgeville
It was Deeproots weekend here at home and Friday night, the back parking lots behind Grant’s and the Library are usually full of people preparing for the bar-b-que competition of Saturday. This year there was a noticeably smaller crowd. We walked around to visit with some friends and enjoy the smell of fresh cooking meat. Will got to see his buddy Blake Jones, but he was sitting down and eating some supper and Will was in no mood to sit still… so we walked. He was carrying his small flashlight and stopped and shined it up in my face and says….. “hey dad…..I wanna go home”. So needless to say we loaded it up and went back to the house to play. Warm bath and footie jammies for tonight….weather is getting pretty chilly at night!!!! Fall is in the air!!!!!! We talked to Grandpa D, Grammy Pam and Aunt Liddy on the computer and settled in to read a few books….then he put the three back and said, “Let’s read this long one”, he was out before I finished 3 pages… All is right in the world when my little man is home…. Life is good!!!
