Prayers to the Grant Family....

I picked up Will this afternoon and he was having a ball playing in the water puddles.  Kid is drawn to water puddles like a moth to a flame...  As soon as we got in the truck it was "ehhhhh, ehhhhhhh" grabbing at his wet pants legs.  He would make the noise and then he would grin; I bet if you gave him another puddle to run through, he would be in it in a minute!!!  We came on home and ate some dinner and got dressed to go to the funeral home.

We went to see the Grant family.  They are like a second family to me and Will.  I worked for the Grant's for many years through high school and college and have remained close to the entire family since.  On Wednesday night, Mrs. Zell Grant passed away.   So in the true Southern tradition, the town turned out to show their support to a great family and an even greater woman.  Having been a teacher in Baldwin County and the wife of a prominent, long standing business owner in Milledgeville, you can imagine the number of people that were there to show love and support for the Grant family.  Will was such a little man.  He walked in and was so friendly and so well behaved.  He was just a champ.  He visited with all of the people in line with us and just performed for the audience.  There was such a line that we were not able to get back to the family and he was getting a little antsy, so we packed it up and headed to the house.  A good warm bath with lots of splashing and "swimming" and a little Cars time made for a good end to a bittersweet day.

After reading a couple of books and saying our prayers, We settled down to rock.  I was scratching his back and he was cooing away and then he rearranged himself in my lap.  he was looking up at me with those sleepy eyes and reached up and scratched my face ever so gently, so I reached down and scratched his.  We did this about three times and he was ready for bed!!!  How does it get any better than this???

Love,

B & W
