Take me to the River…..

After the afternoon of exploring  yesterday, he was wanting to go to the river, but it was getting close to supper time.  I promised him we would go today and he told me that he wanted to have a picnic at the river.  Sooooooo,  after breakfast, we packed up our cooler with a few sandwiches, a Lunchables, some snacks, and few juices.  The bike was must have as well!!!

Before we headed to the Riverwalk, we made a stop to see Nana and BopBop.   With the weather as pleasant as it has been this week, we sat out on the patio and enjoyed watching him play and explore in their backyard.  Of course, he was telling them about all of the things that he has been doing at school and what all we have been doing this week.  They were amazed, as we all are, at how much detail that he is able to recall.  As with every visit to see them, we got treated to some of Nana’s cheese straws and a Coke.  Not bad for a Saturday snack!!!!  They had a lot to get done before listening to the ballgame and I had a little boy asking about the river…..  so we headed to the water….

Something about this one…..

We logged several laps around the track, played in the grass with our shoes and socks off, ate a great lunch and cooled off with some refreshing drinks.  About four hours later, we polished off one last juice and loaded up all of our stuff.  It was time to wind down and get ready for supper.    What a fun day!!!!!!

Love,

B & W
