Ihop, Dreary Weather and Fun on the Tractor....

Friday night, with the alleged wintery mix bearing down on Milledgeville, nothing could do you better than sitting down to a good supper with Pops, Tuts, MaBo, me and Ewee.  We all met up at the Ihop and Will kept us all entertained talking up a storm and telling us about the "cars coming" and talking about nighttime and anything else that caught his eye.  Just hate that after eating all of his supper that he continues to eat MaBo's and Pops' eggs.  Poor Pops had to give up his last few bites of egg to Ewee.  Kinda funny.  MaBo scored MAJOR points when she pulled a bag of cookies out of her purse and gave them to Will.  That was icing on the cake for him.  Loaded up and made a run for the house to get a bath and watch a little Nemo.  At bedtime, the newest obsession is reading the book that Pops and Tuts gave him for Christmas.  It is really neat because it is a book that they took turns reading and they were able to record themselves reading the pages.  As he turns the page he announces who's turn it is to read to him.  AND....the master negotiator that he is,  we end up "reading "it multiple times before we can continue with the nightly routine.

Saturday, the weather pretty much was gray and cold.  We both stayed in our PJ's and watched a few of his favorite cartoons and playing in the floor.  If we raced the cars down the parking deck once, we did it a thousand times.  We both laid in the floor and colored some, we played Hungry Hippos, rode tractors over daddy's belly and laughed and played.  After nap and some lunch, we loaded up and went to see John and Amy.  He was keyed up because he wanted to show us how fast he could run.  Back and fourth, back and fourth he ran through the house.  Played with Buddy a little bit and it was off to Kroger to pick up a few things so that we could take dessert to dinner for his "date".  We hit the house and both took a little nap nap.  Hard to get him up, bit all I had to say was that he was going to play with Kate Kate.  He was up so fast and talking about Kate and playing.

The two of them are so funny.  He took a few minutes to arm up, but once he did.....  They were running through the house, playing with every toy that Kate has, and she has more toys than Will, and THAT is hard to believe.  Hot dogs, vegetable soup, corn bread and Icebox Lemon pie were all devoured at our table.  Kid does not go lacking for eating.  It really does your heart good to sit and watch how he plays.  As a parent, it is very gratifying to watch him interact, imitate, share and play with Kate or any other kid.  One of the difficult parts of that situation, is that is brings a crashing reality that he is growing up and becoming a little boy.  He doesn't really sit with me that much when other kids are around, I can't sit and hold him and he is just becoming more independent.  Reckon that is a parents realization.  Makes you very proud, but bittersweet nonetheless. Bath was interesting, but I had a very tired little boy on my hands.   We rocked for maybe 5 minutes and he was out cold.  I just sat and rocked for a few minutes more.  As my old friend Van sings...."these are the days..."

Love,

B&W
